Rory's law practice is focused on Family Law in such matters as DIVORCE, CHILD CUSTODY, SEPARATION AGREEMENTS, GRANDPARENT CUSTODY PETITIONS, FAMILY OFFENSE PETITIONS AND ORDERS OF PROTECTION. He has successfully represented hundreds of clients in Onondaga, Madison, Oswego, Cortland, Cayuga, Seneca, Jefferson, and Oneida Counties. Rory prides himself on a client-centered approach, wherein each client is considered a priority.
Rory Gilhooley graduated from Syracuse University Law School with high honors (magma cum laude) in 2000 and was selected to serve a two-year clerkship as a law clerk in the Justices of the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division. Prior to law school, Rory began his legal career in the Syracuse police department in 1994 where he served with distinction for 27 years; 22 years as a detective in the Criminal Investigation Division and five years as a police officer. While with the police department he instructed police officers (state and local) and deputy sheriffs in various topical areas of constitutional criminal procedure.
